We have a problem. James came in late again. That's the fourth time this week, and it's Wednesday. He is very talented but he's ALWAYS late. What should we do?

• Easy. Fire him, we'll find someone just as talented
• Give him some extra work that might interest him. We need to improve his motivation
• When he's late, he's late. It doesn't hurt us much so let it be

There's a lot of talk about our employees not being happy. We have some extra money we could use here. What would be best for our employees?

• Pay-rise! Money will motivate them
• Give them some extra vacation days and bring snacks to the office
• Find out what perks employees want and then we'll see what we can afford

Our younger millennial employees want a lot of feedback as they're not confident enough yet. How should we handle them?

• They'll figure it out. I have better things to do
• Fine, I'll have some 1-on-1 meetings.
• We should start using a decent feedback software like Weekdone

Bill is really depressed as his results have been below average lately. What should we do with him?

• Let him know that if his results don't improve, I'll have to fire him
• Send him to training. He'll become smarter and get better results

One last problem. Our intern, Jill, had a great idea for a project that could really increase our revenue. The problem is, if we let her lead the project, it may fail

• We can't trust interns with something that big. I'll lead the project myself.

I'm not sure what my next focus should be?

• Thought so when I first saw you. Just look at your OKRs. You do know what those are, right?
• Set your personal objectives based on our company and team goals, and you'll do great. Have you been explained what OKRs are?

OK… what?

• OKR - Objectives and Key Results. It's what Google, LinkedIn and others use to set quarterly goals. Wanna hear more?
• Go Google it. My time is precious and you're wasting it. You've come so unprepared!

So it's like a long list of random ideas to work on?

• Quite the contrary. OKRs are focused and high-level. No more than 3 ambitious objectives. Each having up to 5 measurable results you want to achieve.
• Basically yeah. List everything you want to do this quarter. Keep adding stuff as you get new ideas. Then do it all.
